Have you ever had one of those weeks where everything seemed chaotic and out of control?
Unforeseen issues come in from every direction.
Major projects and initiatives to complete before the end of the year to prepare for the next.
And a relentless calendar of parties, school performances, sporting events, and other holiday festivities which, by themselves, would be awesome. But mixed in with everything else leaves you feeling frenzied and drained.
(Don’t even mention the shopping that isn’t quite done yet.)
Well, that was my week, and I’m sure it was the same for many of you as well.
So this week, I don’t have any clever anecdotes or new frameworks for you.
But what I do have is a moment of gratitude.
Despite the utter chaos of the season, I’m grateful for my health, my family, my work, and my colleagues.
I’m grateful that I am surrounded by an amazing professional community in Gain Grow Retain and all of the friends I’ve made through it.
I’m grateful for you, and that you trust me enough to allow me send an email to your inbox every week.
While 2023 is filled with uncertainty (as is every New Year), I find immense joy in the relationships that I’ve gained over the past few years.
Here’s to embracing the chaos, settling in, and remembering to slow down and enjoy the people in our lives and the journey we’re on.
Happy Holidays!

Here are some of my favorite podcasts, blogs, and videos from the week:
The Future of Customer Success, an essay by Michael Tastad predicts a rapid evolution of customer success teams, approaches, and practices brought on by the current economic environment hitting tech particularly hard. I happen to agree. One of my new favorite writers on LinkedIn is Tom Goodwin. Here’s a short essay on why we’re entering an era of business focused on outcomes over productivity and expertise.
See you next week.
