Customer success is a career of its own.
However, it also can lead to a number of other roles within a software company.
Over the years, I’ve had team members move to sales, marketing, product management, engineering… even one recently to legal!
There’s also mobility within larger customer organizations, e.g. implementation, professional services, customer support, customer experience.
I myself went from professional services to product management then onto customer success and the CCO role.
To learn customer success is to learn SaaS, and given that XaaS companies are some of the most highly valued companies on the market, it’s a great industry learn and grow your career with.
